Igiaba Scego(born in 1974) is an Italian writer of Somali origin. She studied Foreign Literature at Sapienza University of Rome and currently works on questions of migration and dialogue between cultures. She regularly collaborates with a number of magazines and newspapers and co-edited a collection of short stories, Quando nasci è una roulette. Giovani figli di migranti si raccontano (2007). Oltre Babilonia (After Babylon, 2007) and the autobiographical piece La mia casa è dove sono (My Home is Where I Am, 2010) are her best-known works.
