Born in 1951 in Madrid, Spain, into a very literary family. Today his work is translated into 34 languages and four and a half copies of his books have sold worldwide. His many prizes inculde the prestigious IMPAC Dublin International Literary award for Corazon tan blanco (A Heart so white).
